Amarisoft Achieves New 5G NTN Milestone with Successful MEO Satellite Demonstration in Ka Band
Paris, France – 08/12/25 – Amarisoft is proud to announce a significant breakthrough in the Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) 5G NR domain with the successful completion of a new end-to-end data communication demo over a Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite link. This achievement marks a major step forward following our previous demonstrations, highlighting Amarisoft’s continued leadership in implementing the latest 3GPP specifications at an accelerated pace.
In this latest milestone, Amarisoft demonstrated high-performance 5G NR connectivity over a real MEO satellite link using a wide 100 MHz cell bandwidth in the Ka band, achieving a downlink data rate of 140 Mbps.
This accomplishment marks a significant step beyond our previous demonstrations and further validates the robustness and readiness of Amarisoft’s solutions for the most demanding NTN environments.
This demonstration was made possible through the close collaboration with Geeflex, Amarisoft’s strong local partner in China, and Qingshen, owner of the MEO satellite infrastructure. The setup involved Amarisoft’s AMARI Callbox, deployed on the network side and connected directly to the Qingshen ground station, and the AMARI UE SIMBOX operating as the user equipment. Together, these products enabled seamless, standards-compliant end-to-end 5G communication across the satellite link
This successful MEO demonstration reinforces Amarisoft’s ability to deliver fully interoperable, 3GPP-compliant solutions across both network and UE sides on large cell bandwidth and FR2 numerology

The setup was composed of - An AMARI Callbox has been configured with 5G Standalone (SA) capability in NR Release 18 FR2 Ka band, operating in transparent NTN mode. The cell is set to a bandwidth of 100MHz with a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of 120KHz. - An AMARI UE SIMBOX is configured in NR Release 18 FR2 band, operating under 5G Standalone (SA) mode in band n510, with a cell bandwidth of 100 MHz and a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of 120 kHz. - Two ground station (VSAT) - Two PCs Notes: - Callbox RF signal output has been up/Down converted from FR1 range to FR2 range by the ground station on the feeder link and VSAT antenna on the service link - Two PC (A) and (B) where respectively connected to the CALLBOX and SIMBOX to generate and receive the IP data packets, achieving a Downlink data throughput of around 140Mbps
